-Women Are More Romantic-
Noreen and Frank have been married for more than 10 years. They have two children and live in a beautiful water-front property. Being a successful businessman, Frank always feels very proud of himself for providing a good lifestyle for his wife and family. However, instead of appreciating the wealth that Frank has created, Noreen is always complaining that he is a boring man. Having been married for some time, he no longer seems romantic. Instead of buying her flowers, he gives her plenty of money and lets her buy what she wants. Even when they are going to a nice romantic restaurant, his mind is occupied with his business. He believes in action more than words; so he rarely tells Noreen that he loves her. Noreen begins to feel the love between them no longer exists. Living in their big house, she feels lonely and upset.
Being emotional, women are much more romantic than men. For example, most women like romantic novels and movies. They laugh and cry along with the characters in the love stories. They even put themselves into and see themselves in the stories. Take the example of my friend Joy after she broke-up with her boy-friend. She started going to see romantic movies a lot. Because she could have the excuse to cry when she saw the love affair was struggling.
There are still a surprising number of women of all age-groups who would like to be the princess in a fairy-tale love story. Initially when they meet someone to whom they feel attracted, their imagination easily connects to flowers and candle-lit dinners.
When a man takes his girl-friend to a stylish restaurant with candles and soft lighting on the table, many women naturally look forward to the moment when her boy-friend will look into her eyes, hold her hand, and tell her how much he is fond of and loves her.
Delivering flowers to his girl-friend is the most simple and effective way for a man to win her heart. In both movies and novels, flowers have been described as the symbol of men showing love and affection to women. Receiving flowers from her boy-friend makes a woman feel special, romantic and exciting.
Nice surprises, beautiful words in a little card and daily phone-calls are also considered romantic by women. This is because such actions by a man shows that he is thinking of his girl-friend a lot.
On the other hand, men seem to have such difficulty in understanding a woman's romantic nature:
They shake their heads or laugh when they see their girl-friends or wives so focused in watching romantic movies or reading romantic novels.
At a candle-lit dinner table, while a woman is dreaming of romantic eye-contact and warm and affectionate loving words, men are often just thinking about sex. Sometimes they are even not aware of the romantic situation. They may even be thinking about their work and business.
On Valentines Day, many men still think that flowers are meaningless and too commercial.
The majority of men also have difficulty in expressing their emotions to their girl-friends. It can take a lot of courage for some men to say "I love you". They feel they need to wait and wait for the right time, the right environment and the right mood. Even until their girl-friend loses patience. So, instead of waiting, some women decide that their boyfriend will never love them. So, for them, the simple solution is to move on and find another man. On the other hand, some other women will try all possible ways to test or push their boyfriends to express their emotions, something which quite often annoys them. Men do not like to be pushed because it makes them feel uncomfortable and stressed.
Lack of understanding about women's romantic nature always brings confusion, frustration to men , and at the meantime creates tension, stress, or even arguments in the relationship.
